About the Company

Clever Advertising provides advertising and technology solutions for the iGaming industry. We have been operating for 15 years and have a finance team based across Portugal and Malta. We are looking for an FP&A Analyst to join our Malta office and support our reporting and controlling functions.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Controlling, you will be responsible for the preparation and delivery of financial statements and management reports. Your role is to analyze complex data sets and provide clear explanations of trends, variances, and performance drivers to stakeholders across the company.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Reporting: Prepare and consolidate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow) in line with company policies and accounting standards (IFRS/GAAP).

• Budgeting & Forecasting: Support the annual budget process and periodic reforecasts, coordinating inputs from various departments to ensure consistency.

• Financial Modeling: Build and maintain Excel-based models for forecasting and scenario analysis.

• Variance Analysis: Compare actual results against budgets/forecasts, identifying key variances and explaining the underlying business causes.

• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with teams in Operations, Commercial, HR, and IT to gather data, validate assumptions, and align on performance drivers.

• Management Support: Prepare ad-hoc analyses and presentations for senior leadership and board meetings.

• Process Improvement: Identify ways to improve reporting tools and workflows to increase accuracy and efficiency.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience: 3+ years in a financial reporting or analysis role. Prior experience in iGaming or affiliate marketing is a significant advantage.

• Technical Skills: Advanced Excel skills are essential (complex formulas, financial modeling, pivot tables). Experience with ERP systems and data visualization tools (Power BI or Tableau) is preferred.

• Accounting Knowledge: A solid understanding of IFRS/GAAP and general accounting principles.

• Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting. Holding or pursuing a professional qualification (ACCA, CIMA, CPA) is a plus.

• Soft Skills: Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and the ability to meet tight deadlines while working independently. You should be able to communicate financial insights clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
